Closed all equity positions

WHAT??? As of 1st Nov, I've closed all my equity positions, save for 1 counter which is near n dear to my heart. This decision was taken after much deliberation. All the funds have been poured into purchasing an EC. This was based on a 80/20 assumption that I will be able to make a higher profit from the (expected) increase in property prices over the next 10 years. My gut feeling is that property is a better store of wealth in Singapore. Property prices in Singapore have demonstrated a correlation to inflation, meaning in the worse case, my dollars will not be eroded over time. I will maintain my purchasing power over the next 5-10years. I would like to hear from readers' perspective if property is a better way to build/protect wealth in Singapore. Wish me luck!

This is the first post of this blog. By writing this blog, I hope to record and store my thoughts and decisions of my investment journey. The blog title is a play on every amateur investor's dream of hitting $1million in assets/net worth or whatever metric you use. While every care will be taken to write in a coherent manner, the intent of this blog is not to become a best selling blog. So you as a reader should not expect journalistic editorials. While I'm no investment expert, at the time of writing this post, I've built up a 250k portfolio of equities made up of local and overseas counters. This portfolio was generating annual dividend of 5-7% depending on the year. Unrealised capital gains stand at 3-5%, slightly ahead of long term SG inflation rate. I'm proud of what I've managed to put together, even though there are stocks that I know I should get rid of. Oh well, there's always opportunities to improve.
